The three things a colony needs to successfully achieve autonomy are:
1- Democratic form of government: so that the population can freely choose their Governors and Representatives. And thereby have elected and non-monarchical authorities
2- Capitalistic economic system: since through it a country can produce, market and distribute externally or internally. At the same time, also buy or exchange products for your benefit. Likewise, the globalized world moves with a capitalist system and economic profitability is necessary to have political freedom
3- A formal, written constitution: to respect, protect, promote and guarantee the fundamental rights of citizens.
